Chalkwell Beach
Chalkwell Beach is a relaxed stretch of coastline, perfect for enjoying Southend at a slower pace. Known for open views and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a favourite spot for families, walkers and anyone looking to unwind by the sea.
With plenty of space to sit back and take in the scenery, it’s ideal for picnics, paddling or simply enjoying the fresh sea air. Close to Chalkwell train station and local cafés, it’s a great place to spend time both on and off the beach.
Dog Control Orders: No dogs are allowed on Southend’s beaches between 1st May and 30th September. Every person in charge of a dog (except guide dogs) who permits the dog to enter or remain on the beach during this period can be fined.
Please note that a BBQ ban is in place – There is a current Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) in place banning the use of BBQs on all Southend Beaches. Read more here.
